This guideline sets forth recommended design criteria, components, and the specifications for traditional lightning protection systems installed on water-cooling towers.

The purpose of this standard is to provide for the correct selection of materials and installation procedures of lightning protection systems as well as for the safety of persons and/or property from the hazards associated with exposure to lightning.
